Is this right for you?

Six people I do this work with. One group I don’t.

The practice runs on three specialties, and most clients fall into one of six shapes inside them. Some don't fit any, and that's fine — the Discovery Call sorts it. What's worth saying up front is who this is explicitly not for.

Who fits

The six shapes.

These aren’t rigid — clients often blend two of them. The point is to name what brings most of you here, so you can recognize yourself quickly and see where to go deeper.

The digital nomad

You're US-anchored income on a digital-nomad or remote-work visa in Portugal, Spain, Italy, or Croatia. Recently moved or about to move again. Anxiety about visa renewals, isolation, decision fatigue, work/life under nomadic conditions. You read Huberman, you've tried meditation apps, you want operational tools.

More for digital nomads

The expat professional

Same vibe, less nomadic. You moved abroad for work or family, you're staying, and the move keeps surfacing things that 'should have been settled' months ago. Identity strain. Loneliness. The quiet question of which life you're actually building.

More for professionals in transition

The parent abroad

Trailing spouse or dual-career parent raising kids in a culture that isn't your origin. Lost professional identity. Partnership strain. The bureaucratic load of doing school, healthcare, and visas in a second language.

The US private-pay professional

Based in Central or Eastern time zone in the US, outside the five states where I hold a clinical license. You want anxiety coaching outside the insurance and medical model — no diagnosis, no benefits paperwork. Your pricing and packages are posted in USD on the US-clients page — $220 per 50-min session, and the posted price is what you pay.

For US clients (USD)

The woman in midlife

Perimenopause or menopause changed the weather — mood, sleep, identity, confidence — and your current tools were calibrated for a different body. Sometimes your doctor suggested coaching; sometimes you found your own way here. Local, expat, or US: the season is the common ground, not the address.

The Women's Midlife specialty

The English-speaking local

You live in Croatia (or elsewhere in Europe) and always have — no move, no visa story. You want skills-based anxiety and mood work in English, online and private — nobody's waiting room, nobody's small town — with someone who takes the work seriously. Comfortable conversational English is all you need; the expat framing was never a requirement.

More for locals in Croatia

Only loosely fit one? That’s typical — the shapes are reference points, not requirements. If you’re an English-speaking person dealing with anxiety, low mood, or a destabilizing transition, you’re probably close enough.

One pattern that cuts across all six: perfectionism →

Scope statement

In five specific US states, you have a different door.

I hold a licensed practice in five US states: California, Connecticut, Maine, Rhode Island, Vermont.

Clients located in those five states are served by that practice, not by this one. The right starting point for you is getbetterthoughts.com.

This isn’t a marketing redirect. It’s a scope-of-practice constraint: coaching here is offered only to clients located in jurisdictions where I do not hold a clinical license. Those five states are where I do hold one — so the work there is clinical, not coaching.

Also not the fit

Coaching isn’t the right tool for everything.

  • Diagnosis or clinical work. Find a licensed clinician in your jurisdiction. I’ll point you toward starting resources on the Discovery Call.
  • Active crisis. Please see our crisis resources page for immediate local support. Coaching is not crisis care.
  • Couples or family work. This practice is one-to-one only.
  • A friend-coach or cheerleader. The work here is warm but bounded.
  • Generic life coaching or unlocking your potential. The work is specifically about anxiety, emotion regulation, and adjustment to life transitions. If that’s not what you’re here for, I’m probably not your coach.

Frequently asked

Common questions

What if I'm not sure I'm one of the six shapes?
Most clients only loosely fit one of them. The shapes are reference points, not requirements. If you're an English-speaking person dealing with anxiety, low mood, a destabilizing transition, or the midlife season, you're probably close enough. The Discovery Call sorts the actual fit.
I'm in one of the five US states — can I still work with you?
Yes — at getbetterthoughts.com, my licensed practice. The coaching practice here is scope-restricted to clients outside California, Connecticut, Maine, Rhode Island, and Vermont. This isn't optional; it's how the dual-practice model stays legally clean.
What about clients elsewhere in the US?
Clients in the other 45 states and DC are fully in scope — and you have your own pages now: US positioning, packages, and USD pricing ($220 per 50-min session, posted price is what you pay) at rosemarkotic.com/us. Start there, or book the free Discovery Call directly; it's the same call either way.
I fled my country rather than chose to move. Do I fit here?
Possibly, and it's worth a conversation. The Life Transitions & Uncertainty specialty explicitly includes people destabilized by forces outside their control, including conflict and political unrest. Coaching is not crisis care and not a substitute for licensed care — the Life Transitions page spells out those boundaries honestly, and the Discovery Call is free.
