Our commitment

RoseMarkotic.com is committed to being accessible to as many people as possible, regardless of disability. We work toward conformance with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA and the European Accessibility Act (Directive 2019/882), in force since 2025-06-28.

Current compliance status

This website is partially compliant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA, with the following known gaps as of the date above:

  • Real photography is not yet on the site (commissioned shoot pending). Stock-image alt text will be reviewed when the shoot lands.
  • The quiz has shipped but has not yet had a dedicated keyboard-only and screen-reader audit; it is on the list for the next accessibility pass.

What we’ve built in

  • WCAG AA contrast ratios on all color combinations (verified)
  • Body type at 18px (19px on mobile) for long-form readability
  • Maximum line length of 65ch for body text
  • Keyboard navigation: visible 2px focus ring, no keyboard traps
  • Semantic HTML with proper heading hierarchy on every page
  • Alt text on every image (reviewed for inclusion of banned clinical terms per the brief)
  • Reduced-motion respected — all animations honor prefers-reduced-motion: reduce
  • Form inputs with associated labels; error messages with role="alert"
  • Page language declared (lang="en")
  • Mobile breakpoints down to 320px width
  • Dark-mode tokens defined and AA-contrast verified
  • iOS safe-area handling for the mobile compliance pill

Enforcement

If you are not satisfied with our response to an accessibility complaint, you may contact the appropriate national enforcement body in your EU member state. The Croatian enforcement body for the EAA is the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development.

Methodology

Compliance is assessed via a combination of:

  • Automated audits (Lighthouse Accessibility ≥ 95 on every page)
  • Manual keyboard navigation testing
  • Manual smoke testing with NVDA (Windows) and VoiceOver (macOS)
  • Color contrast verification via the scripts/check-contrast.ts CI lint (light + dark themes)
  • Code review against EN 301 549 / WCAG 2.1 AA criteria
